AIE has been selected by the Australian federal government as one of 12 proposals for the Underwriting New Generation Investments initiative. A total of 66 proposals were submitted from across the country.
AIE’s proposal is for the creation of an 800MW gas-fueled power station, utilizing a combined cycle gas turbine. The site is to be located in the Illawarra and AIE intends to harness natural gas from its Port Kembla Gas Terminal.
The government program was put into place in order to provide reliable and cost-effective power for Australia by supporting various power initiatives.
