Joint venture partners McDermott International Inc., Chiyoda International Corporation and Zachry Group have secured a contract with Golden Pass Products LLC worth over $1.0 billion. Golden Pass Products LLC, owned by ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum, will employ McDermott, Chiyoda and Zachry to construct the LNG export facility in Sabine Pass, Texas.
The three co-venturers are expected to provide procurement, engineering, construction and commissioning of three LNG trains for the project. These efforts will span from 2019 to 2024 and will offer nearly 16 million ton of LNG each year once completed.
McDermott’s Senior Vice President for North, Central and South America noted that McDermott’s vertical integration and prior projects will be a major asset to the success of the project.
