FERC announces Milestones for Venture Global LNG

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) released the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines LNG plant in Louisiana. The facility will produce up to 20 million tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG once it becomes operational in 2023.

CEOs for Venture Global commented, “We thank FERC for their timely issuance of the final EIS, which is an important regulatory milestone for our Plaquemines project.  Plaquemines LNG has a binding 20-year offtake agreement with our partner PGNiG for 1 MTPA, and we are looking forward to announcing additional commercial milestones in the near-term.”

Additionally, FERC accepted Venture Global’s pre-filing request for another LNG project in Louisiana. The Delta LNG project will be south of New Orleans and will also have a capacity of 20 MTPA.

Venture Global leaders noted that the Delta LNG project, along with the other projects underway, will bring the company’s total capacity to 50 MPTA for North America.
