Maritime transport and logistics firm CMA CGM Group has selected GTT to assist with the commissioning, operation and maintenance of its LNG-powered container ships.
CMA CGM’s future 23,000-twenty-foot-equivalent container ships will be equipped with an 18,600-cubic-meter LNG tank and will be the largest in the world to use LNG as fuel.
The GTT service package offers training of crews of the CMA CGM fleet and delivers on-board technical assistance during the commissioning of LNG tanks and the first bunkering operations. GTT’s analysis tools will provide follow-up services for the maintenance of tanks and their insulation spaces.
Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT, said: “We are constantly expanding our range of services to meet the new expectations of ship-owners and are therefore very pleased to be able to support CMA CGM in the commissioning, operation and maintenance of its LNG powered vessels.”
In line with the latest amendment to MARPOL Annex VI (the Global Sulphur Cap), GTT says it continues to expand its portfolio of services to facilitates ship-owners’ transition to cleaner-burning LNG.
