Venture Global Plaquemines LNG, a subsidiary of Venture Global LNG, will supply France’s EDF with 1 MTPA of LNG from the Plaquemines export facility in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana under a new 20-year sales and purchase agreement. The deal will start from the commercial operation date of the 20-MTPA Plaquemines LNG export facility.
The project has been authorized by the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the US Department of Energy (DoE) and is expected to start construction this year.
The gas will be provided to EDF on a free on board basis. Venture Global Plaquemines LNG previously made a similar 20-year deal with Poland’s PGNiG for 2.5 MTPA.
