Svitzer has extended its marine services contract with Sakhalin Energy Investment Company by an additional 10 years. Sakhalin Energy Investment Company is the consortium developing and managing the Sakhalin-II oil and LNG production and export project.
The extension covers the mooring of over 1,800 gas carriers, a vessel fleet of four Robert Allen ice-breaking tugs and two mooring boats. The vessels are operated by 58 Russian crew and are supported by nine onshore staff. The extension will come into effect in November 2022. Svitzer has been providing towage services to the Sakhalin-II project since 2007.
