France’s Total and Algeria’s Sonatrach have signed an agreement to extend existing contracts for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for three additional years. Under the agreement, 2 million tons per year of Algerian LNG will be delivered to the French market. The agreement also includes Sonatrach’s sub-charter of a Total LNG tanker.
“This new contract further enhances the flexibility of Total’s LNG portfolio and strengthens our position as a major partner of Sonatrach,” said Laurent Vivier, Total’s president of gas.
