PAO NOVATEK’s joint venture, Arctic LNG 2 signed a contract with TechnipFMC for operations of a new integrated LNG facility. The contract covers engineering, procurement, supply, and commissioning of the new facility which is expected to commence in 2023. The new facility is expected to hold 19.8 million tons of LNG.
The general plan for Artic LNG 2 is to construct three LNG trains with 6.6 million mpta each utilizing resources in the Utrenneye field in Siberia.
PAO NOVATEK’s Chairman of the Board seems confident in the success of this project due to NOVATEK’s success in a prior endeavor, the Yamal LNG project, which was notably on time and within budget.
