Bechtel Oil, Gas, and Chemicals, Inc. has signed a fixed-price agreement to perform engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, performance testing and operator training activities for Sempra Energy’s Port Arthur LNG liquefaction project. Bechtel will also continue pre-final investment decision engineering in order to assure project cost and schedule certainty.
The 3,000-acre Port Arthur LNG project site is based on the Sabine-Neches waterway. The current scope of the project includes two liquefaction trains, two LNG storage tanks, and a marine berth along with associated loading facilities and related infrastructure. The facility will have a nameplate capacity of around 13.5 MTPA of LNG.
