Train 1 at Cheniere’s liquefaction project in Corpus Christi has reached substantial completion. The train has been commissioned and turned over from Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals to Cheniere.
The train’s operational status marks an important milestone. Jack Fusco, President and CEO of Cheniere stated, “Train 1 at Corpus Christi has achieved Substantial Completion, becoming the first liquefaction train placed into operation at a greenfield liquefaction facility in the lower 48 states”. According to Fusco the train became operational on time, within budget, and without safety incidents.
Bechtel and Cheniere have partnered for several years and have successfully delivered five trains ahead of schedule. There are two Sales and Purchase Agreements (SPAs) with Endesa S.A. and PT Pertamina that kick off in June 2019.
