UK-based Centrica and Brazil’s Centrais Elétricas de Sergipe SA (CELSE) have commissioned Brazil’s first private LNG import terminal.
A ship-to-ship transfer of gas was safely completed by the Centrica-chartered vessel, the Singapore Energy, which delivered 95,000 cubic meters of gas to the Golar Nanook floating storage and regasification unit on February 4.
The Golar Nanook FSRU is based approximately five miles off the coast and is connected by pipeline to CELSE’s Usina Termoelétrica (UTE) Porto de Sergipe I combined-cycle gas-fired power plant.
