Chart Industries announced its full notice to proceed (FNTP) for the supply of brazed aluminum heat exchangers and cold boxes for the Calcasieu Pass liquefied natural gas (LNG) project.
Chart accepted the order from Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE) in the first quarter of 2019 for $135 million. In August 2019, BHGE announced that it won the Calcasieu Pass contract and construction began on the multi-year delivery.
Chart’s President and CEO, Jill Evanko said, “In conjunction with our strong partners on this project, we will provide the highest quality cold boxes and heat exchangers, on schedule, from our Wisconsin and Louisiana facilities.”
Venture Global leads the Calcasieu Pass LNG export terminal project, which is expected to have a 10 million tons per annum (MTPA) capacity. Venture also leads the related TransCameron pipeline project, both in Louisiana. The company announced that financing for both projects closed and made the final investment decision (FID).
