Eagle LNG Partners have a new liquefaction facility near west Jacksonville, Florida. Crowley Maritime Corporation performed their first loading of LNG into an ISO tank container at Eagle’s new facility in 2018. The LNG was transferred to ISO containers and subsequently moved for ocean transport destined for Puerto Rico.
According to VP, LNG, Matt Jackson, this Maxville location allows for easy production and transportation of LNG all within the Jacksonville area. Crowley and Eagle together will service the US, Caribbean, and Latin America with LNG.
With the incorporation of the Maxville factory, there is a clear focus on safety and efficiency. The factory features a storage tank with a 1-million-gallon capacity, allowing for a daily production of 200,000 gallons of LNG.
In terms of logistics, Crowley receives the LNG, transfers them to ISO containers, transports them to vessels, and then ships to the LNG to its destination in the Caribbean or Latin America – showcasing their range of supply chain services. Further, Eagle and Crowley constructed a fuel depot in Jacksonville, showcasing a compact footprint for ship bunkering.
