Chinese shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co. Ltd has ordered design work from French LNG engineering specialist GTT. The deal will see GTT design tanks using its NO96 L03+ membrane containment system for two LNG carriers with 79,960-cubic-meter capacities.
The LNG carriers are being built by Hudong-Zhonghua for Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line). The vessels are expected to be delivered during the second quarter of 2022.
