GTT has received two orders to design LNG tanks using the company’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system. The tanks will be fitted onto two 174,000-cubic-meter LNG carriers.
The orders came from two South Korean shipyards, one from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) and one from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). HSHI is building its LNG carrier for an unnamed Asian ship-owner, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2022. HHI is building its LNG carrier on behalf of South Korea’s SK Shipping Co., to be delivered in the third quarter of 2022.
