Keppel Shipyard in Singapore awarded a contract to Norwegian PG Flow Solutions to supply four seawater pumps to the Gimi FLNG. The contract value is undisclosed.
Each pump will have a capacity of 5,500 cubic meters of water per hour and be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2019. They will be used to cool the steam condensers on the Gimi. The low maintenance pumps will run on energy optimization using frequency converters and can be reversed to clean out the seawater. PG Flow Solutions AS will assemble the pumps in Sande, Vestfold County, Norway.
Keppel Shipyard will convert Golar LNG’s Gimi Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carrier into an FLNG vessel for BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim contract offshore West Africa. Delivery is expected in the first half of 2022.
