Kuwait Petroleum Company (KPC) entered into a 15-year Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Qatar Petroleum for the delivery of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) beginning in 2022. The LNG supply will reach Kuwait’s new terminal at Al-Zour Port.
During the signing ceremony in Kuwait City, officials from both sides signed the agreement. According to Qatar’s Minister of State and Energy Affairs and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, “This agreement extends Qatar’s long-standing LNG supply relationship with Kuwait well into the 2030’s and highlights our commitment to meeting Kuwait’s LNG requirements. We are confident that the exceptional reliability of our LNG supplies will provide KPC with the required flexibility and supply security to fuel the State of Kuwait’s impressive growth.”
Kuwait’s Minister of Oil and the Minister of Electricity & Water and the Chairman of the Board of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation noted that the country is using cleaner energy sources to help drive and support economic growth.
