New Fortress Energy has obtained permits to build the onshore power plant at its LNG receiving and regasification terminal in the port of Pichilingue, Baja California Sur, Mexico. New Fortress Energy will now deploy additional equipment, materials, and workers to complete the project.
The power plant will provide the project with low-cost electricity. The terminal will use trucks to supply LNG to local customers.
“The BCS government is in full readiness to achieve an energy transition that promotes new public and private investments in this sector, under a sustainability scheme that helps to avoid harming the environment,” said Baja California Sur Governor Carlos Mendoza Davis.
