Alexey Miller, chairman of the Gazprom management committee, and Sergey Chemezov, director general of the state-owned Rostec Corporation, signed a co-operation agreement in Moscow on February 25. According to the document, LNG-fueled freight trucks will be used to transport liquid helium from the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP).
Batch production of trucks will be carried out by KAMAZ (part of Rostec), with first 18 trucks to be delivered in 2021. Gazprom Gazenergoset Geliy is authorized to implement the Helium Tank Logistics Center investment project in the Primorye Region. The company will purchase gas-powered vehicles to transport liquid helium in thermally insulated containers. Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo will set up infrastructure for producing LNG and refueling these trucks.
