Wärtsilä will provide maintenance services to Tokyo Gas subsidiary LNG shipowner Tokyo LNG Tanker Co. Ltd. Wärtsilä’s maintenance solution is linked to three LNG vessels containing Wärtsilä dual-fuel engines.
The maintenance package covers scheduled maintenance for the marine vessel along with inspections and spare parts. The dynamic nature of the service agreement will allow the vessel to receive servicing based on equipment performance rather than on a timed schedule.
General Manager of Engineering Department at Tokyo LNG Tanker, Hajime Adachi stated, “We need a reliable lifecycle partner who can respond to our needs and enable us to operate as smoothly as possible. This is why we have chosen Wärtsilä as our maintenance partner.”
The nontraditional maintenance agreement will allow the tanker to operate on a smoother schedule and reduce unexpected downtime.
